The place was super clean but also super small. I walked the whole airport in about 30 minutes. The food options were great, the food court was also clean, which I appreciate.
It's a little crowded, on a weekday afternoon all of the bathrooms even though there's multiple close by all of them had lines. That's the only bad thing!
I flew through here twice -- once when I was coming home from Charlotte, another after my wedding back east coast. The second time we ate at one of the restaurants and were both pleased with the food and service offered at such a small airport. Since we had time to kill, the museum of art was nice to use to pass the time.
Spacious and full of light, but still cozy and easy to navigate. Almost all the restaurants are branches of local favorites like Whataburger, Jason's, and Campisi's. Unfortunately, you can really only fly Southwest out of here - Alaska, Virgin, and Delta have a handful of hub flights, but their position at the airport is always precarious. Just off the southeast tip of the terminal is a plaque marking the spot where LBJ took the Presidential Oath of Office. IMO the best medium-sized airport in the US for passenger experience.
This 5 stars is for the airport admin and staff, definitely not for Southwest Airlines. My sister missed a connection due to a delay and was stuck with her 6 month old and was out of formula due to very extended travel time. She wasn't going to be put on the next available flight due to Southwest not bumping her up on the standby list, knowing her baby had NO FOOD and the next flight wasn't for 6 more hours. There are NO stores that sell formula in the airport, which needs to change, but I called main airport admin phone advocating for her and explained the situation and after a few minutes on hold the lady said she was in contact with someone getting some for her. 15 minutes later a man was at her gate with an entire tub of enfamil and a pack of diapers! Definitely impressed and thankful!
I'm a nursing mom and they have nursing rooms- in the southwest area is right by dining donuts and next to a restaurant. Clean airport and if you call the main airport number, very helpful and friendly. Going through security was a big long line but moved quickly. Lots of options for the food court!
Love Field. My home away from home. By far one of my favorite domestic airports. Quick to get into and out of. With just 20 gates, you can still get wherever you need. The airport just got CLEAR too, so getting through security is a snap. The A parking garage costs $17 / day and he B garage costs $13 / day. If you are paying for parking yourself, you can save some cash by parking in the Love Express lot for just $6 / day. You will pay for this discount with your time though. While it doesn’t take long to get picked up at the parking lot, I have often had to wait 20 minutes or more to get picked up at the airport. The bus drivers will see you waving them down and drive right past you.
The restrooms while clean are not large enough for the facility so long lines often occur. In addition, they decided to move the trash bins into the middle of the floor instead of underneath the paper towel dispensers. As a result, it causes huge traffic flow issues not to mention a wet floor which causes safety issues.
Not a bad airport by any means, but if you have a long layover, know that there isn't much to do, so bring a good book.
The baggage claim at Love Field is notoriously slow. I don’t know how they built this brand new facility and actually found a way to make baggage claim slower. On average, you will wait at least 25 minutes to get your bag. If you are hungry, go ahead and stop and get something to eat first.
