Wow! My 9 year old daughter and I loved this! Coming from CO, where we do not have anything like this, what a treat. The only drawback was most of the stuff did not open until noon and we had been there since 8am. My only complaint is the price for everything on the inside. I spent 20 dollars on 3 carnival games, what a rip-off! Everything takes tickets and they are premium price. Get ready to spend 5-10 dollars on a corn dog with no side. Do the math! They say everything is bigger in TX, so are the prices at the fair. Other than that, what a good time, nothing to complain about.
I came for 3 reasons: 1) got free tickets, 2) wanted to ride the ferris wheel, 3) wanted to see Big Tex. Because of number 1 I got to do 2 and 3 but if never go again. You pay for tickets, you pay for parking, you pay outrageous prices for food and rides and come out hundreds of dollars and very little thrills or fun. Its better to have a season pass to six flags. Cheaper and more fun.
This place is the best! So much to do. Food is great! Refillable drink cup makes it easy for refills! And great souvenir of Big Tex! Season passes got a buddy/friend in Free. Shows to watch, many buildings to look at exhibits, shop and cool off.
Fun, fun fun! Love going to the fair each year and having a great time. The best part besides the food is going thru the Arts and Crafts building to check out all the creative art work because it's a different theme each year. Kids enjoyed the rides and playing games at the Midway. If you're short on cash, pass on the Midway and just go to see Big Tex and other fair events. The State Fair is great for the whole family!
Best fair in the USA! The cold homemade natural root beer, is really tasty. The fried food, the best ever. You even get to preview the best VR goggles out on the planet. Gets you a good idea of what you want for Christmas! If you live in the North Texas area, it's a good, and local safe place to be during October! Meet the new Big Tex! The only negative thing about this is that depending what day you go on, it might be very crowded. Worth checking out!
