I loved how passionate the director was about MADI. Thank you for introducing us to this art form. We're from Michigan and have nothing like this!
We checked out the museum of Geometric and MADI art over Spring Break. It had a wide variety of very cool and interesting art pieces. Our one disappointment was that on the particular day & time we came, nobody was working the desk to answer questions or sell from the gift shop. We were able to drop our donation in the jar, but that was it. There is a law office that operates upstairs and I would suggest you be sure to head up there to check out the art in the halls, and don't miss the hanging quilt on display by Sue Benner (scientist turned artist).
It was an interesting place to be. There are lots of geometric, abstract, and non-objective art works. You also get to make your own artwork. The only problem is that it is a small place.
Very nice museum! Bigger than expected and bursting with interesting art. Volunteers are readily available to give more information on the artists. I will be back soon!
