He is now 27yrs old. Perfect healthy man. And I thank God, for giving these doctors and nurses the ability, the knowledge and the heart,to make this possible.
So they moved him by ambulance 120 miles away,to children's medical center, dallas,tx. Within 30 min. They found his intestine was all twisted,blocking off any food he tried to eat. He was in surgery within the hour,to correct this. And told me, this is very common. He should have had that surgery,by the time he was a week old!
I recommend anyone that has a child with a health problem,to go to this hospital
In 1999, my son was in another hospital that gave him overnight to live. They kept telling me,he had a virus,that was causing vomiting and diarrhea. He was totally dehydrated. He was a year old,and spent most of his first year in that hospital. But,the night they told me,he wouldn't live, I finaly insisted he be seen by a different hospital.
The staff is amazing!! At my daughters stay we never heard the nurses come and go throughout the night. They earned the name Ninjas by my daughter.
All of the staff is wonderful, and took great care of my child. 4 stars b/c some of the building is old, looks grimy and needs repairs, also rough experience with ER sending us home with a sick kids, just to call us back. We drive from Denton and pass up a few other options to come here. Very worth the drive
Stayed in the icu for 8 nights. They had a nurse by the name of "Joy", unlike her name every time she was around it was miserable. She was snarky, rude and insensitive every time her and I came into contact. After speaking with other nurses I was comforted by the fact that everyone had the same opinion of her. I dreaded every time she came into the room. I wasn't surprised to find out that she has no kids and isn't married because I don't think anyone can put up with her for extensive periods of time. It's unfortunate that she was such a bad apple and ruined an already bad situation. I definitely think the hospital would be better without her because the rest of the staff was incredible.
The dr. S and staff are wonderful. Huge step up from the Plano location. Treated our sons condition with the utmost importance and care available. Thank you for your concerns
